Mission Milwaukee

Mission Milwaukee flows from the Mission of ‘The Church‘ – that is Church with a capital C.

Matthew 28:19 sums it up “ Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit.”

We aren’t a blog; a social media site; a non-profit; a new movement; we are a group of Catholics who live in Milwaukee and realized that the Church of Milwaukee is mission territory. The name Mission Milwaukee covers the young men and women who will be serving the Church, but it also covers the hundreds of young adults who will come through our doors for dinner, who encounter the Lord in the Eucharist in Adoration and the Mass; the thousands of people who encounter the Lord in serving Him in the poor, in the lonely, in the lost, in the vulnerable; the Hundreds of Thousands who will encounter the Lord in Sacred Scripture.

The name Mission Milwaukee covers anyone who thinks that the gift of our lives is overwhelmingly amazing , but that it is short and that WE have a mission to go out and preach the good news to all nations. We hope you can be a part of that mission by praying for and with the Church (think Mass, daily scripture readings, Liturgy of the Hours), by recognizing that God has given you wonderful gifts in your life, and committing to use them in service of the mission of the Church here in the city.

This website won’t have much in the way of reflection about ideas as much as it will be a mirror towards the beautiful ways in which Christ is working this city. Check back often; if you have a story you would like to tell, send us an email. We hope to see you around!
